Crown
Crown is a restoration often times recommended for cracked, painful, or broken teeth. A crown, or often referred to as “dental cap”, encircles your entire tooth, even the chewing surface, in order to protect it from braking or from having more wear. They are often times needed when the size or the position of the caries, or cavity, threaten the health and stability of a tooth. Some crowns are elective, in that they are done for cosmetic reasons to hide a large, dark filling or a stained tooth.
In fact Victor, our crowns tech, has been doing this for decades and has been producing some of the most beautiful crowns in dentistry. We do not use machines in the office to fabricate your crowns, as done in many offices today, instead we appreciate the beauty and natural contouring that a hand-made porcelain crown can have, even if it is a tooth in the back where no one can see. They are so natural in fact, that you will have a hard time locating them against your natural teeth.
Bridge
A dental Bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth often using the surrounding teeth for support. It involves two or more crowns connected as a unit spanning the area including the missing teeth. It’s usually done by crowning the teeth or implants adjacent to the missing tooth and the entire unit is often cemented as one inside the mouth.
Here at Lifetime Dental, we have a variety of ways and fabrications for replacing you missing teeth using a bridge. We can fabricate all Porcelain Bridges that look very natural yet still are have the strength of gold and metal bridges. Our goal with our bridges are to replace missing teeth functionally and esthetically.
